OSD Digital Agency are proud to support the Art Auction in aid of The Donal Parsons Trust, taking place on Thursday May 29th at The Model, Sligo.
The auction will be hosted by renowned art auctioneer John de Vere White and will be an evening of fine art, wine and canapés accompanied by music from the Sligo Academy of Music.
Andy Parsons is a well-known artist who lives and works in Co. Sligo. In October 2013, his six year old son, Donal, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma which is a very rare children’s cancer. Donal is currently receiving 18 months of intensive treatment at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin.
The Donal Parsons Trust has been set up to raise money to access any viable treatments to prevent relapse and to pay for treatments if Donal relapses. The Trust may also assist Donal and his family during his treatment. If Donal doesn’t need further treatment all proceeds will go towards fighting Neuroblastoma and to other families in similar circumstances.
Over 60 artworks have been kindly donated to this event. Some of the generous Irish artists to have given work in support of this fundraiser include Liadin Cooke, Mark Garry, Richard Gorman RHA, Sean McSweeney, Nick Miller, Michael Wann and Heidi Wickham.
Andy has been affiliated to Advanced Graphics in London for several years, a well-established gallery and print studio that specialises in screenprint and woodblock.
In collaboration with Advanced Graphics London, a number of artists have donated paintings, prints and drawings to the auction. Royal Academician Craigie Aitchison CBE, who passed away in 2009, made prints with the gallery for many years. His rare screenprint Donkey Candlestick (2002) has been donated in support of the auction.
Other works to come from England include prints by Eileen Cooper RA, Tom Hammick, Clyde Hopkins, Albert Irvin OBE RA, Tess Jaray RA, Allen Jones RA, Hughie O’Donoghue RA, Ray Richardson and Jack Vettriano.
